Rattle Session Roundup 12-12-23

On Tuesday, December 12, Navasota ISD held a Rattle Session to discuss the growth that will be coming in the future to the Millican area. This informational meeting shared the potential for a fourth elementary school to be added to the district to help educate the growing population. Developers attended the meeting presenting their 10 year growth plan, along with the district financial advisor who shared that this is a good time financially to consider a Bond. The district is hoping to take on these plans without affecting the taxes people pay.
NISD Family & Rattler Nation -

We had a good turnout last night for our Rattle Session to discuss the future growth on the horizon for Navasota ISD!
Thank you to everyone who could attend and for the great discussion, questions, and input!

Below are the results from our initial ThoughtExchange that we gathered at the beginning of the night. The ThoughtExchange is still "live" and you can join and share your thoughts using the QR Code or by logging in online. The Thought Exchange will close at Noon on Friday.

The responses emphasize the importance of community involvement and consideration of student needs in the decision-making process for Navasota ISD and the Grimes County future. They highlight the need for strategic planning to accommodate growth, efficient use of tax dollars, and the importance of building facilities to cater to the increasing student capacity. The responses also stress the need for immediate action due to the time and cost implications of building. Furthermore, they underscore the necessity of considering the impact on all students, particularly the economically disadvantaged, and ensuring their voices are heard.
