NHS CHOIR SPRING TOUR

Day 1: The choir visited Baylor University where they had the opportunity to work with Dr. Holmes and witness Dr. Bradley work with the Baylor Men's Choir. Before they departed Baylor, the NHS Tenor-Bass Choir sang for the Baylor Men's Choir and the students were able to visit with Nick Hernandez, an alumnus from Navasota High School who is in the choir at Baylor. Following their time at Baylor, we headed to San Antonio where the choir attended the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) Spring Choir Concert.
Day 2: The choir returned to the UTSA in the morning for a clinic with Dr. Boyd. Following our amazing clinic, the students visited the Alamo and attended the WorldStrides San Antonio Music Festival where they sang for three judges and received a clinic with Professor William Gokelman from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. The Navasota High School Mixed Choir received the Silver award!
Day 3: Students visited the San Antonio Zoo, spent some time by the pool, and then attended an evening filled with excitement that included a BBQ buffet, awards ceremony, rodeo, and dancing.
Mr. Mincy, Choir Director said, "These students continue to inspire me with their dedication to the arts and the talent they bring to class and the stage each and every week! This was an action-packed weekend full of learning and growth on the part of the students. I can't express enough how much they have improved this year and I can't wait to see what they can do in the future!"
