35 NHS Career and Technology Students Advance to State SkillsUSA

Navasota had 54 students participate in various SkillsUSA events - some in multiple events, and 35 students advanced to the State Competition to represent Navasota High School at the SkillsUSA State Convention in Corpus Christi this coming March 26-28. Congratulations students.

Congratulations to the following Navasota High School students who participated in the Regional History Fair last Friday at Washington on the Brazos. Texas History Day, part of the National History Day program, is a yearlong education program that culminates in an annual state-level history fair for students in grades six through twelve.

#1 Navasota Wins 4A Division I State Championship in 2 OT Against Argyle 42-35

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Navasota (16-0) won it's 2nd state championship in three years following a 42-35 double overtime win over Argyle (15-1). The Rattlers finished another perfect season in 2014 at 16-0 and now boast a 42-2 record over the last three years.

Nesloney Named 2014 Elementary Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Navasota Intermediate Principal Todd Nesloney, who was named the 2014 Elementary Teacher of the Year at the Bammy Awards. Mr. Nesloney was selected from five finalists for his world-class collaboration, his contributions to the field of education and his modeling of a 21st-Century educator.

An opportunity to review Literacy Resources to be considered for approval will be held on Monday, April 20 in Room 103 in the Administration Building, located at 705 E. Washington Ave. The viewing will begin at 5:45 p.m.

Rattler Softball Change:
The Rattler home softball game scheduled for Friday, April 17 vs. La Grange has been moved to Saturday, April 18 at 6:00 P.M. The game will still be played here in Navasota.
Boundary Committee Presentation from Webb & Intermediate Parent Meeting
Navasota ISD discussed possible boundary options should the school board accept the recommendation to make all elementary campuses Pre-K through 5th grade in Navasota ISD. This meeting was the first of several public meetings that will be held with parents and community members in order for you to hear and discuss these options. 35 NHS Career and Technology Students Advance to State Competition in SkillsUSA
Navasota High School students finished District Competition for SkillsUSA Saturday, February 21. SkillsUSA is a 50 year old national organization designed to build hands-on job skills for students through competition and leadership. SkillsUSA is made up of over 13,000 school chapters with 300,000 students and instructors competing annually. Navasota competed in District 7 of SkillsUSA Texas, one of the largest districts in Texas, with over 1,600 kids competing. Our Rattlers contended with A&M Consolidated, College Station, The Woodlands, Livingston, Magnolia, Magnolia West, and many more high schools.

2015 Regional History Fair- (Top 2 Advance to state)
Congratulations to the following Navasota High School students who participated in the Regional History Fair last Friday at Washington on the Brazos. Texas History Day, part of the National History Day program, is a yearlong education program that culminates in an annual state-level history fair for students in grades six through twelve. It provides an opportunity for students to develop their knowledge of history, critical thinking, analytical reading, writing, presentation, media design, and public performance skills through creative and original papers, performances, documentaries, web sites or exhibits. Twenty-nine Navasota High School students advanced to the state history fair by placing first or second in the competition. (Click the story title for the entire story)
