Nesloney named 2014 Elementary Teacher of the Year at Bammy Awards
Congratulations to Navasota Intermediate Principal Todd Nesloney, who was named the 2014 Elementary Teacher of the Year at the Bammy Awards. Mr. Nesloney was selected from five finalists for his world-class collaboration, his contributions to the field of education and his modeling of a 21st-Century educator. Selection by a Council of Peers for the short list is a noteworthy distinction recognizing the contributions of all the nominees, who will now become part of the permanent national record of the great work being done in education. Congratulations Mr. Nesloney!
Pink Out Rattler Stadium vs. Houston Furr on Fri., Oct. 24
Navasota High School Student Council is sponsoring a Pink-Out Rattler Stadium event for the Rattlers vs. Houston Furr game on October 24, 2014. Everyone is invited to wear pink, wave pink, and team up for a cure. T-shirts are now on sale for $10 (Pre-order with Dara Schmidt or Carolyn Harris at the high school by October 1, 2014). Pink pom-poms will also be on sale at the gate on October 24. #GoRattlers
House Bill 5 & New Texas Graduation Requirements
The Texas Legislature has changed high school graduation requirements for students who will enter 9th grade during the 2014-2015 school year. The change in graduation requirements allows more flexibility for high school students to pursue either higher education or a career pathway.
